Capturing Cellular-Scale Resolution Over an Entire Petri Dish
Optical microscopy continues to be the tool of choice for the zebrafish research community. However, capturing clear images of relevant biological phenomena still remains a challenging task. It is not possible to simultaneously image a wide area and maintain high resolution using current microscope technology.
At Ramona Optics, we are developing a new patent-pending gigapixel microscope that can capture cellular-scale resolution (5-10 µm) in 3D over an entire 100 mm diameter Petri dish. This unprecedented resolution/field-of-view combination opens up a new horizon for high-throughput, non-invasive imaging of the motion, behavior and activity of unconstrained organisms.
